About Elderberry Press
Elderberry Press was started in 1998 by David St John.
A writer himself, and after having his many manuscript submissions to large publishing houses rejected, Dave was about to give up on his dream of becoming a published author. However, after a talk with his daughter that inspired him to find a way to make his dream happen and not give up, David decided to self-publish his book back in the days when that was practically unheard of. He learned the whole process of publishing from start to finish, and became able to easily design and publish his books to his own custom specifications.
Other authors he knew soon became interested in having him handle the publishing process for them as well, and pretty soon he realized that helping others to publish their books was his new passion.
Dave St John founded Elderberry Press in order to be able to help others accomplish their writing and publishing dreams without having to learn all of the publishing ropes and reinvent the wheel like he had to.
Helping him run Elderberry Press, Dave's wife, Valerie St John, took over the bookkeeping, and their daughter, Asia St John, helped David with book design and illustration.
David St John passed away in 2013 and is deeply missed by many whose lives he uplifted.
Since then, Valerie and Asia St John have continued to keep Dave's dream of Elderberry Press alive, publishing quality custom books for authors who want to independently publish their books and pursue their publishing dreams just as Dave did.
Nowadays, Valerie St John still takes care of the bookkeeping and will be the one to send you the royalties from your book sales.
Asia St John still does the book designs for the interiors and covers of books, and will work with you directly to make sure that your book ends up looking just the way you want it to, just as Dave taught her.
